Surrounded by hundreds of miles of ocean, often too small to be included on a map, is a slice of paradise. The tiny island of Bermuda is one of the most special places in the world to me. I was born there.

Where is Bermuda?
Contrary to common belief that Bermuda is in the Caribbean, Bermuda is in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. It's 665 miles east off the coast of North Carolina. It's just over 23 miles long.

What to do?
Bermuda has the most beautiful beaches, with pink sand and the clearest blue water. Horseshoe Bay is probably the most famous, it was the first place we went when we got to the island this summer. With winter just around the corner now, it is really chilly. It's hard to remember being so hot on the beach that you just had to go into the sea. Even the sea is warm in Bermuda. I spent hours floating around in the water.

If you get an opportunity, go out on the water. The island looks so beautiful from the water. You can see the colourful houses amongst all of the greenery and it's just so pretty.

As children, we always used to go to the aquarium so that's a must when we go back to visit. My sister and I went this summer. It is one of the things that I remember the most clearly from when I was little.

Opposite the aquarium is Flatt's Village. This is a great place for photos. You've got clear water, colourful house and pretty palm trees.

GO TO ELBOW BEACH. We went to an event called Sea Breeze and it was probably one of the most magical nights of the whole trip. There was music and dancing and we had supper in front of the most glorious sunset. I honestly can't recommend it enough.

If you're in Hamilton, visit the Hamilton Princess. Enjoy the view, visit the bars for happy hour and have your photo taken underneath this cute moon gate.

Visit St. George's. It's great for shops and a little bit of Bermudian history and culture. St. Peter's Church is one of my favourites. They also dunk a woman for being a 'nag'. (It's reenacted - don't worry!)

Finally, one of the best restaurants I visited whilst in Bermuda was Blu. I think it's one of the best restaurants I've ever been to - and with one of the best views. My sister and I couldn't resist some more sunset pictures!

Bermuda is expensive, but worth it. I'm slightly biased but if you get the chance to visit, do it. A little slice of heaven.
