Argostoli

Argostoli was our first stop in Kefalonia.

Where did we stay?
We stayed in Makis and Tina's Air BnB. The location was perfect and we loved out tiny little balcony, catching a glimpse of the hills. It was the perfect little place for us to stay - and if you don't mind climbing up a few hills and some steep stairs - then I'd recommend it for you too!
For €20, Tina collected us from the airport and gave us a brief tour of the town. Makis, her brother, was great at communicating with us.

How long did you stay?
4 nights

What did we do?
It wasn't the most active few days in Argostoli - instead we fully embraced Greek like - I'm talking long lunches in tavernas, trying ALL the wine...plus hiding from one very, very forward waiter!

We spent two days on the beach. It was only about a 20 minute walk from our apartment to Lassi (where the beaches are). We chose Gradakia Beach for no particular reason other than it was the first one that we found. It cost €7 for two loungers and an umbrella (which was so worth it - heat stroke and sun burn is not fun!!)

There is also a beach bar as well as a nearby market so you're sorted if you want to be there for the day.

I'm such a wimp when it comes to being cold but the sea was just so beautiful that I had to go for a swim or two!

We walked around Argostoli, seeing as much of it as possible. In the evenings, like many European destinations, the shops are open well into the night so you can spend time mooching around on the way to supper.

On our last night in Argostoli we embarked on the, somewhat ambitious, walk to the Katavothres where we were promised a killer sunset. It didn't disappoint.

So much so that we had to have a mini photoshoot...

and then some more photos...

Next stop: Fiscardo.
